Despite the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic, Allied Legal is continuing to grow through the formation of new partnerships, opportunities, and connections. Our sustained growth will no doubt allow for brand new initiatives and propel us into innovative and exciting new space. For now, we are excited to announce the latest additions to our startup team – Henry Sinclair, Michael Ibrahim, and Nina Culley.
Prior to starting his position at Allied Legal, Henry practiced as a paralegal at global business litigation firm – Quinn Emanuel – in Sydney. Henry holds a Bachelor of Law and a Bachelor of Business, majoring in marketing from the University of Technology, Sydney. Henry has gained significant experience working in commercial disputes, obtaining valuable insights into an array of legal matters including trademark infringement, insolvency and restructuring, contractual disputes, finance litigation and regulatory investigations.
When Henry is not practising, he is playing the drums and guitar (much to the displeasure of his neighbours). It has been through music that Henry discovered his own creativity, having had the chance to play in bands and teach drums too. Suffice to say, Henry is excited about immersing himself in the dynamic world of startups, particularly as client-facing communication is where he really thrives. He is looking forward to engaging with founders and business owners to solve the unique challenges they face each day. Henry is interested in new innovations like the development of Non-Fungible Tokens (NFTs) and the many startups emerging within this space.
Michael Ibrahim hails from a family of communicators, from his great grandfather who owned a radio station in the Netherlands during World War II, to his siblings who manage the communications for non-for-profits across Melbourne. Michael graduated with distinction from the Queensland University of Technology (QUT) where he studied media and communications, majoring in marketing. During his studies, Michael completed a cross institutional unit in media trends using node XL. From there, Michael went straight into a management role for a commercial tiling company in the Gold Coast. Now Michael manages Allied Legal’s communication and engagement strategies whilst working part time at marketing giant, ntegr!ty.
Even when Michael isn’t working, he’s communicating in some way, from running his own YouTube channel to live Twitch streaming. Michael’s passionate about keeping up to date with the latest news and trends, especially when it’s to do with innovation and technology. He is currently obsessed with the latest advances in artificial technology and its’ broad scope from its usage in digital marketing to the treatment of hair Growth.
Nina’s eyes light up when she thinks about creating informative and meaningful content, whatever the medium. She is a multi-disciplinary writer with a background in copy writing, creative writing, publishing, and editing. Nina holds a dual degree in Creative and Professional Writing and Human Services from QUT. She recently completed her post graduate studies at the University of Melbourne, focusing on media and communications.
Though Nina is always on the go, between preparing pitches, working on her own writing, and managing a creative writing studio in Melbourne, she always has time to read up on the latest startup news and trends. Nina has written for many publications, but her most niche writing role was creating real estate copy for million-dollar homes. Nina comes from generations of entrepreneurs and has always been attracted to business. She is particularly fond of the intersection of business and creativity which lends itself to the startup space. Currently, Nina is most excited about ethical innovations from cleantech to green and social startups.
